SPONSORSHIP IMMIGRATION
Your relatives can live, study and work in Canada if they become permanent residents of Canada. You can sponsor certain relatives to come to Canada if you’re at least 18 years old and a: Canadian citizen or person registered in Canada as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act or permanent resident of Canada.
Sponsorship applications take approximately 12 months to process from start to finish. They are typically processed within 12 months but they can take longer depending on the nature of your case.
The sponsor must be 18 years of age; The sponsor must be a Canadian permanent resident living in Canada or a Canadian citizen; and. The sponsor cannot be in prison, bankrupt, under a removal order (if a permanent resident) or charged with a serious offence.
Sponsoring the listed family members or relatives will take: 1 year - spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner, and dependent child.
