Get A Study Permit

A study permit is a document issued by the Canadian government that allows international students to study at designated learning institutions (DLIs) in Canada. Here is some detailed information about the Canada study permit.

Eligibility:

1. Acceptance by a Designated Learning Institution (DLI): Before applying for a study permit, you must first receive an acceptance letter from a Canadian DLI.

2. Proof of Financial Support: You must demonstrate that you have enough funds to cover your tuition fees, living expenses, and return transportation.

3. Good Health: In some cases, you may need to undergo a medical examination to show that you are in good health.

4. No Criminal Record: You must provide a police certificate to show that you have no criminal record.

Application Process:

1. Applying Online: Most study permit applications are submitted online through the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website.

2. Application Fee: There is a non-refundable application fee that must be paid when submitting your application.

3. Required Documents: You will need to provide various documents such as a valid passport, acceptance letter from a DLI, proof of financial support, and any other supporting documents requested by the IRCC.

4. Biometrics: Depending on your country of citizenship, you may need to provide biometric information (fingerprints and photograph) at a Visa Application Center.

5. Processing Time: The processing time for a study permit can vary, so it's important to apply well in advance of your intended start date.

Conditions and Validity:

1. Full-Time Studies: You must be enrolled as a full-time student at a DLI.

2. DLIs in Canada: You can only study at DLIs with a valid designated learning institution number (DLI number).

3. Work Permits: With a valid study permit, you may be eligible to work on or off-campus while studying and apply for a post-graduation work permit (PGWP) after completing your program.

4. Renewal: If you plan to continue your studies in Canada, you must extend your study permit before it expires.

5. Dependent Family Members: Your spouse/common-law partner and dependent children may be eligible to accompany you to Canada. They may require their own study permits or visitor visas.

It's important to note that the specific requirements and processes of the Program can change over time. Therefore, it's recommended to visit the official website of the IRCC or consult us for the most up-to-date and accurate information before starting the application process.
