Canadian Experience Class

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is a sub-category of Canada's Express Entry system. It is designed for foreign nationals who have gained skilled work experience in Canada and wish to become permanent residents. Here are some detailed key points about the Canadian Experience Class stream:

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Work Experience: Applicants must have at least one year of skilled work experience in Canada within the last three years before applying. The work experience must be in a National Occupational Classification (NOC) skill level 0, A, or B occupation.

2. Language Proficiency: Applicants must meet the minimum language requirements by taking an approved language test (such as IELTS or CELPIP for English, or TEF for French) and obtaining the required scores in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

3. Education: There is no specific education requirement for the Canadian Experience Class. However, having post-secondary education in Canada or an educational credential assessment (ECA) can earn additional points.

4. Intention to Reside Outside of Quebec: Applicants must have the intention to live and work outside the province of Quebec. Quebec has its own immigration programs.

Selection Factors and Points System:

Applicants are assessed based on several selection factors, and a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is used to assign points to each candidate. The factors include:

1. Language Proficiency: Points are awarded based on the applicant's language test results in English or French.

2. Work Experience: Points are allocated based on the number of years of skilled work experience in Canada.

3. Education: Points are given for completion of post-secondary education in Canada or an ECA for foreign education.

4. Canadian Work Experience: Additional points can be earned for work experience in Canada beyond the minimum requirement.

5. Age: Points are assigned based on the applicant's age at the time of application, with maximum points awarded to individuals between 20 and 29 years old.

6. Adaptability: Points can be earned for factors such as previous study in Canada, having a valid job offer, or having a Canadian spouse or common-law partner.

Minimum Entry Score and Draws:

Applicants enter the Express Entry pool, and regular draws are held to invite candidates with the highest CRS scores to apply for permanent residence. The minimum CRS score required varies in each draw, depending on the number of candidates and the labor market needs.

Application Process:

1. Create an Express Entry profile and meet the eligibility requirements for the Canadian Experience Class.

2. Obtain an Invitation to Apply (ITA) if the CRS score meets the minimum requirements in a draw.

3. Submit a complete application for permanent residence within 60 days of receiving the ITA, including supporting documents and forms.

4. Undergo medical examinations and security/background checks.

5. If approved, receive Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) and a permanent resident visa (if applicable) to travel to Canada.
